Welcome to my website! I have created a personal statement to attempt to help you understand what is important to me as a psychotherapist and why I work as I do. It is impossible to discuss all the potentials in a therapeutic relationship here, so as you explore my website, if you have any questions regarding what I have said or how I work, please contact me. I will be happy to speak with you and clarify anything you find unclear or puzzling.

As I discuss the various types of therapies I practice, please understand that the issues I address are what I have found to be significant considerations in that particular type of work. They are intended to outline what I believe are important therapeutic considerations in that clinical area and are not intended to fully define the possible extent of that work.

I believe the best psychotherapy is always tailored to the individual and is not limited by a single theory or point of view. All the evidence on psychotherapy confirms that an essential contribution to success is the nature of the therapeutic relationship. As an experienced practitioner, I know this to be true; I practice using tailored approaches for each person and their unique situation and history.

Whatever clinical approaches I employ, I endeavor to provide a safe, mutual, and nonjudgmental relationship. Accepting authentic relationships builds trust, promotes healing, and leads to greater self-understanding, and this is where I begin my work.

Additionally, I draw from a depth of theoretical knowledge informed by my experience, licensing, and certifications. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a degreed and certified Psychoanalyst, and a certified Relational Somatic Psychotherapist. Drawing from these perspectives and ongoing study, I strive to create a safe and healing environment that fosters increased self-awareness, enhanced insight, and an expanded awareness of what is possible.
